Frequently asked questions
Do I need to book to attend a class?
You can attend all of our classes on a casual basis (no need to book), except for the Beginners' Courses on Monday and Thursday evenings, and Pam's Children Yoga classes.
I'm new to yoga, how do I know which class to start with?
If this is your first experience of yoga, the best place to start would be with a Beginners Yoga Course with Gina on Mondays 7.30pm or Thursdays 6pm (please check our online timetable for course start dates).
Once you have completed a Course you will hopefully feel more comfortable moving onto experience our general classes.
Alternatively if you are new to yoga, you might like to try a few different classes on a casual basis (just let the teacher know you are new to yoga practice and they will be sure to offer guidance accordingly).
Many people who come to our yoga centre for the first time like to purchase an Introductory Trial Offer.
This enables you to attend various classes within a 14 day period for only $30.
Hopefully during this time you will find a teacher and style of teaching that suits you and your particular needs.
We then recommend that you stick with that teacher (or teachers) for an extended period of time. Give it 'your best shot'!
Where can I park?
There is plenty of free unlimited parking in John Street (which runs off Douglas Parade), or you may be lucky to get a spot in the cark park at the back of the yoga centre.
How can I pay?
We accept cash, cheque or electronic funds transactions (please ask your teacher about this). We do not have credit card or EFTPOS facilities.
What do I need to bring with me to class?
We provide yoga mats, blankets, bolsters, blocks and straps (no charge).
Feel free to bring your own mat if you'd like to (it’s definitely more hygienic).
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Avoid wearing watches, tight belts, perfume, cologne, or strong essential oils.
Please try not to bring mobiles phone into the yoga studio. If you bring one in accidentally, please ensure it is on silent mode or switched off.
It's also best to refrain from drinking water whilst practising yoga, but feel free to bring a water bottle if you need to.
